About Wings of Kindness

Wings of Kindness was founded in October 2023 with one simple but powerful vision: to create a space where community comes together, feels seen, and gains access to real support.

What began inside Mondragon Family Market quickly became something bigger than we imagined. We opened our doors not just as a business, but as a place of connection. Our very first community event a Halloween celebration brought families together in a way that reminded us what was possible when people feel safe, welcomed, and valued. Just weeks later, in December 2023, we hosted our first annual toy drive, serving hundreds of families and igniting a movement rooted in giving, joy, and dignity.

The response was overwhelming and it confirmed what we already knew: our community has real needs, and they deserve to be met with care, consistency, and heart.

Wings of Kindness exists because we understand those needs firsthand. We are not outsiders looking in we are part of the community. We listen, we show up, and we create spaces where families can access resources, build connections, and experience moments of hope.

At the center of it all is Mondragon Family Market a place built on community, trust, and strength. A pillar in the community since 1978, it has long been more than just a market. Today, it continues that legacy by serving as a hub where generosity meets action and where community is not just talked about it is lived.

Through seasonal events, resource connections, and ongoing outreach, Wings of Kindness is committed to building something lasting: a stronger, more connected community where no one feels alone and everyone has access to opportunity.

This is more than a nonprofit.
This is a movement rooted in community, built on trust, and driven by purpose

About the Founder *

Wings of Kindness was founded by Marina Mondragon, a multipreneur, community leader, and advocate for families.

Raised in motel rooms and shaped by firsthand experiences of instability, Marina understands what it means to navigate life with limited resources. That lived experience is the foundation of her work today.

What she once lived, she now transforms into purpose.

Alongside her husband Jason, Marina helps lead Mondragon Family Market, continuing a family legacy that began in 1978. Together, they have expanded the market into a space that not only serves food and groceries but serves people.

Through her leadership, community events have grown to serve hundreds and now thousands of families, creating access to resources, connection, and opportunity for those who need it most.

Marina’s work extends beyond the nonprofit. She is also an advocate for Women she hosts womens events to remind us that rest is part of empowerment. She is a leader in building systems that create efficiency, growth, and impact across multiple businesses.

But at the center of it all is one mission: To build what she once noticed was needed. A community that shows up.
